Membership Tiers can be locked so that only users who hold a specified promo code can purchase them.
#### Step 1: Enable 'Invite Only'
In the target membership type’s edit panel, enable “Invite Only” under “Advanced Options.”
#### **Step 2:** Create promo code
Enter the ‘Discount & Codes’ tab and then follow our guide to create a [promo code](https://app.gitbook.com/o/3ssbzoC2LuFC7GmlQofA/s/ArGy7vQWZPA9Z8R1a6dv/~/changes/57/merchant-guide/distribution/discount-and-promo-codes). Both manually and bulk generated codes can be created for invite-only tickets.
#### Ensure that your code applies to the target membership type. Click “Add” and then “Update” in the sidebar when complete. The promo code is now activated.
